These are exciting times. For the first time ever, on Thursday, September 7, Team Israel departed for Germany to take part in the 2023 Dusseldorf Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry of Great Britain. The Blue and White Team consists of 20 athletes, all members of the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization.
Headed by top government officials, the 25 members of the Ukrainian mission visited our center and saw the unique rehabilitation and support frameworks the ZDVO provides to our disabled veterans.
In an act of true Chesed, Gabby has chosen to commemorate the Fogel family. Fogel family members were murdered in their home in Itamar, Israel just a few weeks before Gabby was born. Gabby is named after their 3-month-old daughter Hadas.
The 2023 Annual 5 Towns 5K Run/Walk was an especially festive event, drawing runners and walkers from far and wide to participate. This year it was clear that the race – nicknamed Gabby’s Race – was raising critical funds for Beit Halochem rehabilitation centers serving wounded veterans and their families in Israel.
