The Bayit of Riverdale, NY partners with Beit Halochem to write Shana Tova Cards to Our Disabled Veterans

On Sunday, September 10th, 2023, Chesed Day at the The Bayit included an opportunity to meet representatives of, learn about, and write to disabled veterans.

One veteran Captain Ran Ben Attia, who served as an Operations Officer in the National Brigade, and who was severely wounded by a sniper during a military operation in 2014. Another veteran was Oren Blitzblau, who, among other injuries, was blinded in a suicide bomber attack in 2005. Both have demonstrated their fortitude in sports competitions such as the “Ironman” as they overcame many obstacles in their long process of rehabilitation.

Zvi Paikin, a committed member of the Institute, together with Yael Manor-Oshinsky, HIR Program Associate, were instrumental in making this possible.
