Gold Medal at Continents Cup 2013 for ZDVO wheelchair dancers

Wheelchair dancer Nahum (Humi) Prital, member of the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization and his dance partner Gal Cucuy (who has been dancing with Humi as a volunteer for several years), won the Gold Medal at the 2013 Continents Cup which took place in Moscow last week. A lawyer by profession, Humi is a member of Beit Halochem Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The winning dance “The Robot” was choreographed by Yelena Feitliher.

150 athletes from more than 20 countries competed at the 2013 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Wheelchair Dance Sport Continents Cup from 31 August-1 September in Moscow, Russia.

Organised by Russia’s Ministry of Sports and Wheelchair Dance Sport Federation, it was the fifth anniversary of the event under IPC management. The competition has existed since 1998, but prior to 2009 was called the Saint Petersburg Open.

Wheelchair dance sport is not on the Paralympic Games program but is governed by the IPC.
