In each generation, it takes a group of committed people to continue a family legacy of philanthropy. Helping people is part of Jewish life.

Now a new group, the Dor Hadash Board, currently in formation, is focusing on bringing awareness and financial support to the four Beit Halochem rehabilitation centers in Israel that serve more than 50,000 disabled veterans, terror attack survivors, and their family members.

On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, more than 50 young professionals gathered for a first meeting, which included a Hanukkah celebration, and Guest Speaker Yoseph Haddad from Israel, himself a wounded Israeli veteran.

Earlier this year, Elizabeth Hirsch, Evan Agatston, and Alexandra Shea, our three chairs, got together to talk about the most impactful way to get involved in supporting the life changing work of Beit Halochem.

Not surprising is the fact that all three have been part of other Jewish charitable causes, following in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents.

As Ms. Hirsch noted, her grandmother, the late Judy Hirsch, was a lifelong advocate for Beit Halochem and Israel. “Since my grandmother’s passing, I have been committed to continuing her legacy and this important work.”

After viewing “Greetings from Beit Halochem Veterans”, Yoseph Haddad spoke about his work to bring greater understanding between Arab and Jewish Israelis, improving Israeli society as a whole, and how much Beit Halochem has meant to his recovery from his battle wounds.
