In the last couple of days, hundreds of rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli cities, including the capital of Israel, Jerusalem. In response, the IDF struck military targets belonging to the Hamas terror organization in Gaza. Simultaneously, widespread civil rioting by some of the Arab population in various towns and cities throughout the country has erupted.
On Thursday, May 6, Ministers agreed to push through the Defense Ministry’s plan to reform the treatment for wounded IDF veterans. During December 2020, ZDVO-Beit Halochem awarded 644 academic and vocational training as well as creative arts scholarships, in a total amount of approximately NIS 2,600,000 (US$ 825,000) raised from private donors, Friends’ Organizations and endowments.
Sixty Sports Excellence Scholarships were awarded at Beit Halochem Tel Aviv, for total value of $110,600 USD. In a special ceremony adapted because of the pandemic, the scholarship support went to excelling athletes and their coaches for their athletic achievements. Our brave men and women from all four Beit Halochem centers are truly inspiring.
