Hebrew Institute of Riverdale – The Bayit hosts Zoom Session

On March 25, 2023, HIR’s congregants along with Rabbi Ezra Seligsohn, Associate Rabbi, benefited from Oren Blitzblau’s story of overcoming  his challenges. Blitzblau was blinded, among other injuries, in 2005 during the arrest of terror suspects in the Gaza Strip when one of them detonated a bomb. He has since participated in the Ironman swimming, biking and running competition as the only blind competitor in Sweden in 2018.

He has also named the European Champion in the Para Triathlon in 2013.

The session included a special greeting from Edan Kleiman, Chairman, and a discussion about Oren’s plans for the future and importance of Beit Halochem in supporting Israeli wounded veterans.
