Dr. Seinuk, a long time FIDV friend and founder of the Annual 5 Towns 5K Walk/Run for FIDV (www.5towns5k.org), bicycled along with Israeli disabled veterans and members of Israel’s national cycling team in the annual Courage in Motion event from Oct. 20-24, 2013 – a five-day magical adventure to raise funds for Beit Halochem (“http://www.courageinmotion.ca”).
But in addition to this moving event, Dr. Seinuk noted, “Two highlights of my trip to Israel this year for Courage in Motion was when I played wheelchair basketball at Beit Halochem (see photos) and at the Dead Sea when I swam/raced with two Beit Halochem swimmers in the swimming pool. Meeting and playing basketball with Moran Samuel, who is also a Para-Olympic rower, and other disabled veterans at Beit Halochem, then swimming with two Para-Olympic swimmers – these were as special to me as the whole bike ride.”
