Miracles do happen. Just ask Haran Wolfovitz Yaffe.
No one thought he would live after being badly wounded just six days before the end of the Second Lebanon War in 2006. Now he is traveling the world raising funds for wounded soldiers, and particularly for Israel’s Zahal Disabled Veterans-Beit Halochem.
Haran, then a 25-year-old reserve soldier from Amirim in Northern Israel, in the Engineer Corps, was considered to be one of the most severely wounded soldiers of the Second Lebanon War. Today he turns the old saying that “if you will it, it is not a dream” into a breathing, living reality. Haran is a medical phenomenon who defied all odds and defeated near-fatal injuries. Today he shares his dynamic story in front of various audiences around the world.
When he tells his story, Haran shares his incredible journey of recovery and rehabilitation with his audiences. From the battlefield to months in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, Haran transitioned from the wheelchair to the surfboard. This was made easier because of Haran’s natural ability to depict horrifying moments with humor and charm, as if being hit by a missile is nothing at all.
He is a remarkable combination of many things: an entrepreneur, musician, and writer, as well as a medical phenomenon, he has also become a polished motivational speaker and performer. He travels throughout the world speaking on behalf of disabled veterans, hospitals and related organizations. He also speaks in schools, universities, fundraisers and other venues.
Haran Wolfovitz Yaffe is the Founder and CEO of Fansino, winner of the prestigious Best App Award at the Mobile Premier Awards 2015, Barcelona MWC. He currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and daughter.
