Longport, NJ – In a powerful display of solidarity on July 7, over 150 residents from Longport, Atlantic City, and Margate marched alongside IDF wounded soldier, First Sergeant Itay Sagy, on the boardwalk Sunday morning. This heartfelt event aims to support the release of hostages held by Hamas and to honor the bravery and resilience of those who have fought for freedom.
Participants embarked on a two-mile walk to the pier in Ventnor, proudly waving Israeli flags and showing their support. Upon arrival at the pier, Rabbi Yan lead the gathering in prayers for the hostages and the Kaddish for those who have tragically lost their lives. The ceremony concluded with the audience joining in the singing of the Israeli national anthem, reinforcing the unity and strength of the community.
First Sergeant Itay Sagy, who was gravely injured during a heroic defense against a terrorist ambush, shared his deeply moving and inspiring story with attendees. His address highlighted the essential mission of Beit Halochem in supporting IDF wounded soldiers, helping them to regain their lives and continue their path to recovery.
This event was moving and had an impactful experience, brought the community together to stand in solidarity with those affected by the ongoing war and to honor the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers like Itay Sagy.
