The Maccabiah Games (also known as the Jewish Olympics) are the third largest sporting event in the world, and take place every four years in Israel. The rich history of this event dates back to pre-state times.

This year’s games are taking place in Jerusalem, Haifa and Netanya, with a total of about 10,000 athletes from 80 countries. They will participate in 42 sporting events watched by tens of thousands of spectators.

The Maccabiah Games unite Jewish athletes from all over the world for a unique experience of Zionism and sports.

Beit Halochem in Jerusalem is proud and excited to have hosted a delegation of 200 American athletes for a day of joint collaboration and activities alongside IDF wounded veterans, as part of a pre-Maccabiah camp prior to the Maccabiah Games.

The strength and courage of the Beit Halochem vets has inspired the American Maccabiah athletes, and show them that with determination and perseverance, the sky is the limit.

We wish them all great success now and in the future!
