Chairman’s Message – Rosh Hashana 5778

FIDV bike riders

At Beit Halochem, everything is possible.

Dear Friend of FIDV,

This Rosh Hashana, let us be sure to remember the heroic men and women who protect Israel for all of us. Your generosity and caring will make a difference!

Their rehabilitation needs – from therapy for PTSD and missing limbs, to sports training for better health, and cultural and education opportunities – must always come first. At our Beit Halochem centers in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and Beer Sheva, all these needs are met.

Beit Halochem becomes a second home to the men and women who come to us for rehabilitation and therapy. And, sometimes Beit Halochem becomes a matchmaker!

Haim and Ori, two young veterans disabled while in the service are a unique couple: he a combatant in the Haruv Regiment wounded in Nablus in 2006; she, a Special Forces combatant in the Engineering Corps, afflicted with a rare disease affecting her joints.

Ori and Haim met at the Young Veterans Club at Beit Halochem, and they just got married! The fact that both of us underwent injury and rehabilitation at Beit Halochem,” Ori says, “helps us deal together with all the difficulties.”

Help these heroes to REBUILD THEIR LIVES! Please make a Rosh Hashanah gift now to FIDV-Beit Halochem – $54, $72, $180, $360 or another amount. Show them that their sacrifices are meaningful!

“My life has changed since I met Ori,” Haim says. “I have opened up to new experiences, and new activities, and to the many opportunities offered by Beit Halochem.”

Haim and Ori dance at their wedding.

Haim and Ori celebrate at their wedding.

In anticipation of their wedding, all four Beit Halochem centers helped to buy Ori’s gown. As Ori and Haim start their lives together, we are proud that FIDV-Beit Halochem helped make this shidduch!

Please stand with Haim and Ori, and the 51,000 other heroes we serve. Make a special Rosh Hashana gift now to FIDV-Beit Halochem where veterans help one another deal with – and overcome – the complex world of disability.

Join us in changing lives for the better. We cannot do this without you.
Thank you.

’Shana Tova,

Michael Leichtling, Chair
